Manon 2026 Production
Audition Information
Auditions will be held on the evenings of Tuesday December 16th and Wednesday 17th December 2025.
Audition location: St Leonard’s Church, Marshalls Brow, Penwortham, Preston, PR1 9JA.
Our production is fully staged with full Opera Chorus with accompaniment from Preston Opera Orchestra.
All rehearsals and performances will take place in Preston, Lancashire.
Principal rehearsals take place at weekends from Sunday March 22nd 2026 and Thursdays evenings as required from April to work with our Chorus.
A detailed schedule will be made available.
Performances will be in the last week of May 2026 – exact dates TBC.
The production will be performed in ENGLISH from the Schirmer edition; translation George and Phyllis Mead.
For the purposes of auditions auditionees may sing in French or in any English translation. If you have an own choice item and you have sung the Manon piece in French please choose a piece in English as own choice.
In the audition please feel free to sing the items in the order that makes you feel most comfortable.
** Piano accompaniment will be provided. Please bring a copy of your music for the repetiteur for your own choice items.
A warm up room will be available.

Note that as an amateur society Preston Opera is not normally able to pay its principals or to reimburse long distance travel and accommodation. Our rehearsal schedule is only suitable for performers within easy reach of Preston from the North West of England.
