Manon
The Friday Performance
Here are a few "still" pictures taken from a video recording of the Friday performance of Massenet's Manon. The Opera was produced by Marilyn Taylor.
Unfortunately the audiences for Manon were smaller than usual for Preston Opera productions. Perhaps people were put off by the fact that Manon is relatively unknown. Those who did attend were treated what could be described as a little gem. Massenet could certainly write a good tune and the orchestra did full justice to the unique score. The principals, chorus, producer and conductor all received well deserved plaudits at the curtain calls.
